What is a Practice Squad?

In sports, the practice squad, also known as the taxi squad or practice roster, refers to a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster.

Often referred to as the scout team, practice squad players play the role of the upcoming opponents during practice, helping the main roster prepare for upcoming games.
